This is my first blog post on my website. Expect lots of Blog Posts.
While you're here, I'd like to tell you about my band, the Dry Points. We're a band of printmakers in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Have you ever doodled over someone's face, like in a yearbook or newspaper? We do the same thing, but we do it with over 25 distinct printmaking and mark-making techniques. It's lots and lots of fun!
Over the course of a year, we've been working on our third album, "Ghost Prints". We took found steel-engraved portraits of Milwaukee's pioneers and created 30x40 inch one of a kind mixed-media prints. There's six of us in the band, 87 prints total, and a lot of stuff to look at!
If you live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin or are visiting between September 19th-October 16th, you can view the whole body of work at Milwaukee City Hall during business hours. There's an opening party as part of Doors Open Milwaukee and a closing party for Milwaukee Gallery Night. All the details are on thedrypoints.com.
